Many people will experience elbow problems at some time. Sometimes they show up as catching, locking, or clicking in the joint. Sometimes it’s pain on the inside or outside of the elbow. Numbness and tingling in the hands can also be signs of elbow trouble. These issues can be caused by instability in the joint, tendonitis, or overuse injures such as tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow (which ironically happen most often to people who don’t play either of those sports).
At Fulcrum Orthopaedics, we also see patients with elbow sprains, strains, fractures and dislocations. Treatment depends entirely on what’s causing the pain, but can range from antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines to occupational or physical therapy and, as a last resort, surgical treatment.
